Mormon scripture is vital to understanding past and present mormonism and the rise and formation of a new religion. My Name is Joseph. I am a seeker of truth and a spiritual guide. I am the same as those who have gone before me, a person of my time. Each of those who went before me saw the errors of their time and gave their lifes work to correct it and so shall I do with mine. I am not perfect! It was not meant for us to be perfect, for in our imperfection lies the keys to our existence. Remember always, we all are the children of the Creator, and we are not perfect, nor were we ever meant to be perfect, only the Creator is perfect! I wish to elaborate on the Book Of Mormon and the scriptures written therein. Many people have read the Book of Mormon and to the Mormons themselves this is the holy gospel of God, a sacred and irrefutable text that gives credence and viability to the very lives of every Mormon and what it is to be Mormon. For the most part, Mormons are a very loving family oriented community that looks to their own first and are seen as very industrious and well suited to business mostly due to their ambition to succeed and their abstinence of alcohol and drugs. They send many naive and zealous young missionaries world wide to preach and convert others to their faith while their elders become entrenched as modern day prophets trying to defend this faith and being very strict and easily convinced to excommunicate anyone of the faith that dares to question their rigid stance and ultimate authority. So...let us now examine some of the scripture and beliefs of these wondrous Mormons and their Prophet Joseph Smith, and see how all this relates to now and when it was conceptualized around the year of 1830.
And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.
This passage in the Book of Mormon has troubled me since I was a young and impressionable Deacon in the church of Latter Day Saints questioning my elders, "how could this be sir, for if God loves all his children equally, how could he punish these bad white people by turning them black, surely he would just banish, maybe disown, or simply kill them, because this would say that all black people in the eyes of God were bad or inferior and not equal to their delightsome white brothers, how could this be as I have known some black people that are much better spiritually and morally than many of the white people I have known." Elder tell me, "does God favor one race or color more than another , or does man?" My elder simply told me that I must have faith and not question God's gospel in the Book of Mormon, for who was I to question God's wisdom? I say to you all that we must question the validity and truth of all gospels that claim to be the words of God as given to men by angels or golden tablets but can offer no real prove of their existence. If you begin with the year of 1830, some 30 years before the United States fought brother against brother in what was called the bloodiest war in American history for the eventual emancipation of slaves constituted almost entirely of blacks, then you can see the clear hand of Joseph Smith writing about the popular view of his day in 1830. God does not live in the moment, only man does, as God is eternal and left the evolution of his children to the universe he created. Blacks have suffered for centuries at the hands of white people and still suffer today because of man's ignorance to accept the true nature and circumstance of being black. Black skin is an evolutionary advantage to protect the body's cells through melanin against a harmful excessive amount of the (UV) ultraviolet rays of the sun and if many white people wanted to quit suffering from cancerous growth of skin cells they would be smart to intermingle with black or brown races more to get this added protection for their offspring. God loves all his children of the rainbow and knows each has something to contribute to the whole, and he will not suffer one race to dominate over another, nor favor one color over another. I say to you, God is not prejudice, man is! God is in the heart and souls of all good people and it is time that we question our past and discard that which is not relevant or truthful and accept the change that is necessary to evolve to the next level of existence in the light of God's goodness.
1 Nephi 13:15
And I beheld the Spirit of the Lord, that it was upon the Gentiles, and they did prosper and obtain the land for their inheritance; and I beheld that they were white, and exceedingly fair and beautiful, like unto my people before they were slain.
1 Nephi 8:10-11
And it came to pass that I beheld a tree whose fruit was desirable to make one happy. And it came to pass that I did go forth and partake of the fruit thereof; and I beheld that it was most sweet, above all that I ever before tasted. Yea, and I beheld that the fruit thereof was white, to exceed all the whiteness that I had ever seen.
O then ye unbelieving, turn ye unto the Lord; cry mightily unto the Father in the name of Jesus, that perhaps ye may be found spotless, pure, fair, and white, having been cleansed by the blood of the Lamb, at that great and last day.
These last phrases from the Book of Mormon are just of few of the many examples that the author Joseph Smith writes about white and whiteness and how truly good it is to be white. This is the attitude of 1830 and the dominant white race that had forced the brown man from his land and enslaved the black man to work for him. It was not good to be black in 1830 especially in the Americas and the United States thereof. Joseph Smith writes in his encounter with the angel Moroni how exceedingly white and brilliant he is beyond anything earthly he had ever encountered, and even the fruit of the Tree of Life is white beyond anything he had ever seen. Almost everywhere he wants anything to be good and pure it is portrayed as white, many times exceedingly white and fair beyond comparison. This is even true today as ever visitor to the Mormon Temple can testify to the surrealistic whiteness of this temple. This story of Mormon portrays the consequences for a family of white people and their brethren turning on each other because of their belief in God and his son Jesus Christ and thus God chooses to keep the good and faithful people called Nephites white and turns their unfaithful bad brethren the Lamanites black. The reader is drawn into a story of purity emblazoned by whiteness and its corruption clouded by evil in darkness. Even near the end of The Book of Mormon, after nearly the entire annihilation of all the good but stubborn white people called Nephites, because of their inequities before God and their disbelief in his son Jesus, who are crying for forgiveness on the day of judgment, the author exhorts the doomed to save themselves by being cleansed by the blood of the lamb in the passage of Mormon 9:6 and declares what it means to be pure, fair, and white. When I walk out into the sunlight I see clarity and color running everywhere through the leaves of trees and grasses and the myriad fields under the open blue sky and I feel pure and clean with the wonder of Gods universe, and I feel how all good things fit together, and I know that one does not have to be white or fair to feel purity of heart.
1 Nephi 12:23
And it came to pass that I beheld, after they had dwindled in unbelief they became a dark, and loathsome, and a filthy people, full of idleness and all manner of abominations.
Now we can see how Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon felt about the Native Americans called Indians of the Iroquois Federation and particularly the Mohawks or Mohicans that lived in the state of New York where he grew up, as illustrated in (Enos 1:20) of The Book of Mormon "And I bear record that the people of Nephi did seek diligently to restore the Lamanites unto the true faith of God. But our labors were in vain; their hatred was fixed, and they were led by their evil nature that they became wild, and ferocious, and a blood-thirsty people, full of idolatry and filthiness; feeding upon beasts of prey; dwelling in tents, and wandering about in the wilderness with a short skin girdle about their loins and their heads shaven; and their skill was in the bow, and in the scimitar, and the ax. And many of them did eat nothing save it was raw meat; and they were continually seeking to destroy us.", and this is what happens to the unfaithful when they lose their way and are turned dark and become a loathsome and filthy people. The Book of Mormon contrasts the evil brown native gone wild and bad with a pastoral description of the good white people the Nephites as (Enos 1:21) "And it came to pass that the people of Nephi did till the land, and raise all manner of grain, and of fruit, and flocks of herds, and flocks of all manner of cattle of every kind, and goats, and wild goats, and also many horses". This is a contrast of peoples cultures in which one wants to live off the land and the other exploit the land, one that wants to be in harmony with nature and one that wants to enrich itself at the expense of the other. The sadness of this story is that the Mormons and Joseph Smith in their folly have declared white people through the inequities and moral corruption of the original people of the Book of Mormon to be the ancestors of the present day indigenous people of America!
With the exodus of Lehi the original patriarch of the Book of Mormon, akin to Moses of the old testament of the Jewish people, reportedly around the year of 600 BC and approximately the time of the Judah King Zedekiah and the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar and the destruction of Jerusalem, until the final days of great battle and the destruction of Mormon and the Nephites in the land of Cumorah (somewhere around present day New York State) and Mormon burying his records on the hill of Cumorah a thousand years have passed to around 400 AD. It is incredible that during this time all the people in the story of Mormon who are made up of the stiff necked Lamanites and the obedient Nephites convert to Christianity through their acceptance of Jesus Christ as their savior and live happily together for a long time, but alas finally they become wayward again and lose their faith, start quarreling with each other, build different churches and start the final epical battle to end it all. The last scenes are of the remaining good Nephites who will not denounce their belief in Jesus Christ and are put to death, something like Roman times, and the dark Lamanites inherit the land. With a story like this, one could easily surmise that earth will be left to the brown or dark people and heaven will be made up of white people. This story has a cast of hundreds of thousands of people, several major cities and a vast network of towns all supporting an iron age industry making thousands of weapons like swords whose knowledge of making them would have come from the Middle East. Is it possible that all this could have existed around 1600 years ago in North America and we have no evidence of it? I think not, as one could easily lose a book, but not an entire civilization.
This website was fostered by the idea to bring clarity to understanding the scriptures of the Mormon religion, and when and under what circumstances these scriptures were written. There is not much I could say about the Prophet Joseph Smith except he was truly a man of his time inspired by the Second Great Awakening that sprang out the the north eastern United States and traveled along the spine of the Appalachian Mountains with such fervor that almost overnight Evangelists and Reformers were collecting new members faster than they could count. It was a time of revivals that heralded the evangelism of upper New York state and such was the goings on that this part of the state become known as the burnt over district due to the fact that it was so over evangelized that there was thought to be no more fuel to burn, otherwise no more converts to convert. The Second Great Awakening was a Protestant Movement that began in 1790 and Joseph Smith would have been growing up with this religious fervor all around him in this burnt over district. What with the establishments of many new movements and churches seemingly overnight, it would seem only practical that an ambitious and intelligent young man as Mr. Smith would have been inspired to take advantage of all the happenings then. With famous evangelists painting the inside of hell with their overbearing oratorical abilities and offering redemption by converting to Christianity those still on their feet feeling remorse for all their faults, the young Smith would come to know what charismatic characters could do with an audience. What a chaotic scene with rugged and wayward frontiersmen and Indians sometimes lawless and drunk passing through heading west contrasting with the zealous evangelists exhorting the settled populace to denounce their sins and come to Jesus and all the time the locals just praying for order. The timing was most excellent for Joseph Smith to bring a new order to things...but here I leave you to get better acquainted with the author Joseph Smith by reading more yourself in an excellent biography written and 1st published in 1945 by a very courageous woman named Fawn M. Brodie called "No Man Knows my History, The Life of Joseph Smith"
There is a greed that lives on this earth that consumes many of us and destroys our ability to look at the human race as a whole. Greed has many forms and only one that deals with the all consuming desire to obtain unlimited wealth for self. Jesus Christ was not such a man and instead taught the populace to not ignore the unfortunate, the poor, the ill, the displaced, and the suffering, but to help uplift them. This is a man who thought of all his brothers and sisters and felt the evil steeped in greed of the world that so easily corrupted our compassion and made it possible to dismiss the notion that we are all one. Unfortunately Jesus did not write down his own thoughts and words of which so many oral teachings have been misconstrued and the circles of power that dwell within so much of Christianity have manipulated his original teachings to insure that only they can interpret his meanings, and only they can unlock the gates of heaven in his name. So much has been lost in the past through the power of the state to form an alliance with the church and allow them to define what teachings are acceptable and which ones are to be restricted that the true teachings of Jesus Christ have been lost or destroyed and even dismissed as heresy. When the world becomes so narrow and restrictive and mans knowledge and compassion increases with the passage of time, old thoughts and ideas are questioned and new dreamers and visionaries come of age, such is the time at hand.
A church of God should not be founded on the attainment of wealth, for wealth is of this world and has no value in God's kingdom. When a church becomes a corporate entity and takes on the shroud of business it loses its way to the simple administration of faith, goodness, and hope for change, and becomes inflexible and unforgiving. Such a church now exists and the greed for power has developed a leadership of businessmen to enter into politics at all levels of government and now even into the candidacy of president. One of the most destructive forms of business are those known as corporate raiders who prey upon mismanaged or underfunded businesses that ultimately could seek bankruptcy for protection and reorganization but instead turn to smooth talking raiders giving funds to restore operations or make a company more vital, while shortly thereafter sucking out that vitality with clauses given to repayment of invested funds with all the companies assets backing them. It is simply a way to dismantle a company for all its assets and earn huge dividends for its raiders while the victims are the workers and their families who lose their ability to earn a living. This is not job growth, it is job loss and this candidate for President Mitt Romney has gotten very wealthy doing this. I do not belief such a man could or should win the presidency especially given his deep involvement in his Mormon faith, a faith that has prejudiced blacks and browns alike and denied the natural ancestry of Native Americans is in denial of its past and should be questioning the legitimacy of Joseph Smiths story of Mormon! I ask you, how could one support a candidate for President who believes in such a radical view of America? Beware of the political change that could begin the dismantlement of the society that we now know with money controlling politics and buying votes by the very well to do. A complete collapse of the Social Security system and all social programs designed to give support to the vast majority of our society is not just imminent it has been planned for and designed to happen when the right circumstances are in place. The Republican Party may very well have sealed its fate by allowing a Mormon to run for the Office of President of the United States. If we do not open up our eyes and put our trust in leaders who will look out for the common good of a country that need only protect its borders but now exports war and arms worldwide at great profit to its manufacturers then reason and common decency will not foster the cooperation the world needs to understand the next progression of human society.
I write to you now to bring hope to all good Mormons and good people of all faiths who have lost faith or question their leaders or scriptures, even those excommunicated who have seen fit to leave their congregations instead of bowing to unjust and untruthful accusations and teachings, and I would offer these same a new vision of a future that is possible with understanding and cooperation in good faith. When you see a truth in something or a possible lie you should be able to to talk about it and try to correct it, this is God's way, for even the mightiest and most righteous of us all are not always correct, for we are but human and have not attained perfection, we are merely in the beginning of a long process of evolutionary learning. I myself walked away from the LDS (Latter Day Saints known as Mormons) at an early age and have not been back since, for I asked the Creator of the Universe, the one God above all others, to lift the veil before my eyes so that I could see the truth and know it for what it is. I am human and not perfect but there are universal truths that effect us all that most of us could agree upon, and so the story of creation is an ever on going process. I have had many visions in my life and have felt the Creator inside them helping me to understand the nature of life and the cosmos and how creation and evolution go hand in hand, one is not possible without the other. These are trying times for men's souls and there is much to learn and change before its too late, so I would welcome all the good brethren of this world that seek change to get to know me and turn the page to my vision of God and the universe as only the Creator could do.
This website is a new beginning for all the people of the world, in all walks of life. We can not bring about change and learn to evolve if we are not willing to consider all the consequences of our actions. Because there is a revolution going on all over the world now in which the people are looking for new and just ways to administer and distribute wealth and welfare which will bring about social change and leadership by the people, this website will now be launched and be linked to JosephsFoundation.com. These two websites are my views of our past, our current time and projections of future times, and they will help organize the truth seekers everywhere that want a more just and cooperative world. Mormonism is not the only religion that is faulty, the other Abrahamic religions which include Judaism, Christianity, and Islamic all have their faults and are a major reason for most of the unrest and activism through their fundamentalism that is trying to tear the world apart today. God the Creator does not favor one religion over another, but looks to the good individual to right the sinking ship called civilization that calls God unjustly to justify and have a hand in the dealings of fundamentalists of all religions including those known as terrorists, along with the economic and political captains and families that hold most of all the power and money in the world today. Since the dawn of our universe, God the Creator has left all decisions, actions, and future to those inhabitants of this universe. Why then look to a higher entity such as God as the reason for all things that happen in our universe, but look to give credit or blame on those who do inhabit this universe for they are the true heroes or culprits of all things good or bad that is done in this world, for until we take responsibility for our own actions, we will not become responsible. I have been working most of a lifetime for this moment to arrive and will continue to do my part in this struggle for equality and truth. I now invite all good people who care to write me and introduce themselves in the form of a letter and their picture describing their interest in helping form this new movement that deals with religion along with social economic causes that are influencing our world today and about my writings and visions. Also a fellowship of Truth Seekers is now forming, and has received it's (501) (c) (3) status as a non profit organization known as JOSEPHS FOUNDATION and will accept new members and all the generous donations from all who seek change. The Donations and Comments page will soon be activated, so be patient if you are trying to donate or comment or even apply for membership, and you can donate, comment or apply directly if you wish to Josephs Foundation, 6090 E.
